After receiving tremendous feedback on our first DiversityFIRST™ newsletter, we have expanded the newsletter’s scope to have a national focus. In addition to Texas, the current edition of DiversityFIRST™ also covers California and Florida. Future issues of DiversityFIRST™ will also include information on healthcare diversity, diversity in higher education, and diversity in the legal profession.
To have a national newsletter on diversity is not only a testament to how far our country has come, but it also creates a valuable opportunity to further the cause of diversity and inclusion. As many of you know, there is still a lot of work to be done. Unfortunately, sexism, prejudice, racism and hate are all still prevalent in our communities and workplaces. My hope is that this newsletter will bring both awareness and education and also challenge the status quo of inequality that we often see.
